During the (almost) full year of quarantine, it has been a struggle to find true inspiration in the fashion industry. Things have felt forced, or non-important, but I have always looked forward to the projects that Stylist/Art Director/Photographer Miah Nizhoni McCarthy creates in her own world. Whether she is the subject, or she works with other people, there is true emotion behind the imagery, there is a story and context behind each photo. It might not be obvious, but it makes you question, it makes you feel something. That is true inspiration at it’s finest. Her quirky choice of models, intimate camera angels and off-beat styling feels fresh. Some of the coloring and photography techniques remind me of Mark Borthwick.
